Broadway Impact has announced its upcoming events for this spring, including a series of post-show discussions and talkbacks to foster discussion on gay and lesbian rights. Events include TalkOUT and the ING NYC marathon among other scheduled discussions.

Broadway Impact is looking for other runners to join Broadway actress Kate Shindle in running 26.2 miles for marriage equality in the ING NYC Marathon on November 7, 2010. This year she will be joined by fellow Broadway actress Shayna Steele and together they will lead the Broadway Impact team. Please contact the group if interested. Applications must be turned in by March 15th. Email Jenny@Broadwayimpact.com for more information and details.

On March 15th the Broadway Impact co-founders Gavin Creel, Jenny Kanelos and Rory O'Malley will be participating in TalkOUT, a post show discussion after a performance of the Off-Broadway hit The Temperamentals! For discount tickets that give back a portion of the sales to Broadway Impact, use the link below or code TEIMPACT2 at the New World Stages Box Office, Broadwayoffers.com or by calling (212) 947-8844. http://www.broadwayoffers.com/go.aspx?MD=2001&MC=TEIMPACT2

Broadway Impact has also teamed up with the off-Broadway production of YANK! playing at the York Theatre, where they have been sponsoring a series of post show talkbacks. The next one is on March 17th and will discuss the history of gay and lesbian characters in musical theatre. Actor Will Taylor (LaCage aux Folles, A Chorus Line, Producers) and Michael Anderson (BrooklynCollege Dramaturgical MA candidate) will be speaking. For discount tickets for the talkback date, or any performance during the run, use the code IMPACT when ordering tickets on www.yorktheatre.org. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Broadway Impact.

Broadway Impact also has announced its support for a new group launched recently called Fight Back New York, which is focused on creating the political landscape needed to bring marriage equality to New York. After 38 New York senators voted down the marriage bill last year, it became clear that marriage equality wouldn't become a reality unless we changed things in Albany.
