Broadway Green Alliance E-Waste Event Set for Duffy Square, 9/17

Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation's leading recycler of electronics and e-waste, has joined forces with the Broadway Green Alliance (BGA) for a special e-waste collection event to take place right in the heart of Times Square in New York City.

This opportunity for New Yorkers to conveniently dispose of their unwanted electronics will take place on Wednesday, September 17th from 10 am - 2 pm. Many of Broadway's leading shows and stars are getting involved and encouraging fans of live theatre - and all residents of New York City in general - to take advantage of the opportunity to unload unwanted electronics while doing something good for the environment.

The event is free to the public and will take place right in Duffy Square (Broadway and 46th Street). Accepted items include computer equipment, televisions and mobile devices.

The BGA, the five-year-old industry initiative that educates, motivates, and inspires the entire theatre community to adopt environmentally friendlier practices, has rallied the Broadway community to support the event. Cast and crew members from several shows including: A Gentleman's Guide To Love And Murder, It's Only A Play, Jersey Boys, Kinky Boots, Late Show With David Letterman, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Motown, The Phantom Of The Opera, The Book Of Mormon, and Wicked, among others, will be participating. Off-Broadway shows, theatrical offices, and theatrical unions are also participating.

"By working together, we can get the word out about the importance of responsibly recycling electronics while helping the great people of New York City keep their unwanted items out of landfills. Shegerian added that ERI bins will also be available backstage at all the participating Broadway productions.
