Broadway Bound Theatre Festival Presents World Premiere of BERGEN Image

BERGEN is a dark comedy set in Norway in the near future. We follow rock musicians Tor, Hans, Erik, and Inger, who vow to find a name for their band that reflects America's collapse. While they argue over politics and art, they drink, erotically fantasize, and break into song. An unforeseen event sends the band into a tailspin with accusations of betrayal, drunken confessions, and a shocking act of violence. BERGEN is a play about youthful ambitions, America's betrayal, and creating art in the face of a world that is falling apart.

BERGEN is presented as part of Broadway Bound Theatre Festival 2018. Come out and play, New York! Affordable theatre is alive, well and living in NYC's eclectic and electric East Village. Broadway Bound takes a fresh approach to the theatre festival model as it mentors the continent's brightest playwrights on successful self-production.

For playwrights, participating in BBTF is a balance between seeing their play not only as a work of art, but as a business venture and actively participating in the community, with the complete and comprehensive support of the festival management team. The result is a top-quality production of their premiere work in NYC's only curated festival.

The 2018 season will see a fresh, diverse and relevant cross section of theatre relevant to the modern audience.

The New York Times pick of top 15 festivals to see Broadway Bound runs August 4-24 with multiple performances daily.
