The Broadway-aimed musical Allegiance has created a Priority Access Pass to give more theatregoers a chance to see the production. A fan who purchases a Priority Access Pass for $5.00 is guaranteed a reserved and numbered spot on a list of theatregoers who get first shot at purchasing tickets when they go on sale - ahead of the general public.
The show premiered at San Diego's The Old Globe, starring George Takei, Lea Salonga, and Telly Leung, in September 2012 and quickly sold out, leaving many fans without a chance to see the show at all.
Fans who buy a Pass will be contacted before the box office opens to non-Pass holders, and will be given a code that allows them purchasing access to any available seat, in the order in which they bought their passes. Priority Access Passes are good for two tickets and are valid for any commercial production of the show - on Broadway, in national tours, and international performances. Passes can be purchased here. Allegiance is expected to open on Broadway during the 2014-2015 season.
The Allegiance team has also launched a program called Allegiance Ambassadors, which readers can join here. Ambassadors are described as "fans on the front lines who help to spread awareness and recruit show allies as we prepare to open on Broadway...Allegiance ambassadors are part social media mavens, part community organizers, and part Broadway super-fans. They aren't just fans of the show, they're part of it and its success," according to Allegiance's website. Ambassadors are eligible for discounted tickets, free merchandise, backstage passes, and even a walk-on role during the show.
All Priority Access Pass holders will receive 5,000 Allegiance Ambassador Ribbons - and if pass holders buy a ticket to the show, they receive a free download of the full Allegiance cast album upon its release.
