Why Are We So Scared of The New York Times?
by Robert Diamond - January 10, 2009

I don't usually take on controversial or heated topics, as that's not my style...but I was a bit stunned by Saturday's Arts Section of The New York Times, executed by Dave Itzkoff, that opened the topic of this coming season's Tony Awards with this sentence: "The following item is recommended for hardcore theater nerds (and the people who love them): The Broadway League and the American Theater Wing have announced key dates..."

When the "paper of record," that is revered by the theatrical community and is SUPPORTED by Broadway advertising dollars (and feared for the 'power' of its reach and critics) gets 'snarky' about the industry's annual awards show ... what are we to think?

*I* would certainly like to know what YOU think.
