Sarah Jones--who was chosen as the recipient of a 2006 Special Tony Award for playing a mosaic of women in her one-woman play Bridge & Tunnel--is now set to perform the show for almost another month.

Bridge & Tunnel will now run through August 6th. Originally announced to end its limited run on March 12th, it was first extended through July 9th.  The show opened at the Helen Hayes Theatre on January 26th to rave reviews.

Directed by Tony Taccone (Continental Divide) and written by Jones, Bridge & Tunnel (which was previously a hit off-Broadway), has Jones playing over a dozen women of various nationalities and economic backgrounds; a Chinese mother, a Pakistani accountant and a Latina woman at a poetry slam are among the roles assumed by Jones in the show.  Bridge & Tunnel is produced by Eric Falkenstein, Michael Alden and Boyett/Ostar Productions.

The show, which was a critical and commercial hit when it ran from February 19th through August 15th 2004 at off-Broadway's 45 Bleecker Street Theatre, netted Jones an OBIE Award for Outstanding Performance. The original off-Broadway production was produced by Meryl Streep, as well as by The Culture Project, Allan Buchman, Robert Dragotta, Jayson Jackson, Michael Alden, Eric Falkenstein, Marcia Roberts and Tom Wirt Shafter.

Jones, whose screen and TV credits include Spike Lee's Bamboozled, Lisa Picard is Famous, "Queer as Folk" and HBO's "Def Poetry Jam," previously performed in her works Waking the American Dream, Women Can't Wait and Surface Transit.
