The Brick Theater, Inc. is currently accepting submissions for their annual summer festival. This year, the festival theme is selling out! The $ellout Festival is a festival about compromising, cashing in and giving out. The $ellout Festival takes place from Friday, June 2 – Sunday, July 2, 2006 at The Brick Theater (575 Metropolitan Avenue, between Union and Lorimer Streets, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn). There is no application fee and no participation fee. Application forms can be downloaded at www.bricktheater.com.

"Looking for a home for that pointless Neil Simon revival? We'll take it!" enthuses Co- Artistic Director Michael Gardner. "Want to roast a celebrity for the press coverage? Bring it on! Give us your formulaic crowd pleasers and celebrity cash cows! And yes, we will take a real performance piece with social commentary about selling out."

Artists with works relating to the theme of selling out are encouraged to submit their work. All works must be at least 45 minutes in length to be considered. World premieres and NY Premieres are preferred and all productions must be exclusive to The $ellout Festival during the months of April-August 2006.

Now in its third year, The Brick Theater, Inc.'s wildly popular summer festival series kicked off in 2004 with the Hell Festival and continued last year with the Moral Values Festival. For more information on The Brick, and to download an application, visit www.bricktheater.com.
