Scottish actor Brian Cox is widely known for his work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he gained great recognition for his portrayal of King Lear. He has also appeared in many Hollywood productions, including Rushmore, The Bourne Supremacy, Troy, and Braveheart.
On 2 November 2010 it was announced that he will next appear on Broadway opposite Jason Patric, Chris Noth, Kiefer Sutherland and Jim Gaffigan in That Championship Season which will open in March 2011.
