Leading human rights organization, Breakthrough, celebrated ten years of "bringing human rights home" at its Let's Breakthrough Together Gala, held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on October 22, 2010. The event was attended by close to 350 guests and raised more than $500,000 to support Breakthrough's cutting-edge multimedia programs in India and the US, and the global expansion of its award winning Bell Bajao campaign.

Highlights of the evening included a riveting performance from Eve Ensler's I am an emotional creature by Emmy-, Tony- and Grammy Award-winner, Cynthia Nixon and her daughter, Samantha Mozes. Nixon and daughter Mozes then presented Eve with the Breakthrough Inspiration Award.

The audience gave Eve a standing ovation after her emotional and powerful remarks about her personal battle with cancer. Eve called Breakthrough "a magnificent organization with extraordinary work," and urged the audience to get behind their dreams.

Camile Massey, Board Chair, presented Peter Ackerman, Founding Chair of the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict, and Managing Director of Rockport Capital, Inc. with the Corporate Inspiration Award. Anshu Jain, head of Deutsche Bank's Corporate and Investment bank, and Teresa H. Clarke, Chairman and CEO of Africa.com presented Patricia and Madhav Dhar with the Breakthrough Leadership Award.

"Breakthrough was honored to recognize the extraordinary leadership of people like Eve Ensler and Peter Ackerman at its Tenth Anniversary Celebrations," said Mallika Dutt, Breakthrough's President & CEO.

The evening closed with a performance by BLADE Dance Entertainment, followed by music and dancing by internationally renowned artist, DJ Rekha.
