Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) just announced that Manhattan Theatre Club's acclaimed world premiere production of Heisenberg, the new play by Tony Award and two-time Olivier Award winner Simon Stephens, directed by Drama Desk Award winner Mark Brokaw, will transfer to the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street), MTC's home on Broadway, this fall starring original cast members Denis Arndt and Tony and Emmy Award winner Mary-Louise Parker.

The Broadway engagement of Heisenberg will start previews Tuesday, September 20 and openThursday, October 13 at MTC's Friedman Theatre.

MTC's Artistic Director Lynne Meadow said, "Simon Stephens is one of the most exceptional playwrights in a new generation of exciting writers who are working in the theatre today. I am thrilled to bring to Broadway Simon's compelling and insightful Heisenberg, which MTC commissioned and produced in our Stage II at City Center. Many more theatregoers will get to see the amazing Mary-Louise Parker and Dennis Arndt in the funny, quirky, and moving production that director Mark Brokaw created last spring for our 150 seat theatre Off-Broadway."

"Is this the strangest thing that two people have ever done in the history of the world?"

Amidst the bustle of a crowded London train station, Georgie (Mary-Louise Parker) spots Alex (Denis Arndt), a much older man, and plants a kiss on his neck. This electric encounterthrusts these two strangers into a fascinating and life-changing game. Directed by Drama Desk Award winner Mark Brokaw (The Lyons, How I Learned to Drive), Heisenberg brings to blazing, theatrical life the uncertain and often comical sparring match that is human connection.

Internationally renowned for his Tony and Olivier Award winning The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, visionary playwright Simon Stephens returns to Broadway with this sharply original play starring Denis Arndt (The Night Alive at Geffen Playhouse, "The Practice") and Tony and Emmy winner Mary-Louise Parker (Proof, "Weeds").

Heisenberg was commissioned by Manhattan Theatre Club and received its world premiere last summer as part of The Studio at Stage II - Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series, MTC's initiative to bring bold new work to audiences. Heisenberg was an immediate sold-out smash hit, earning critical raves and extending twice.

The Broadway production of Heisenberg will be presented as part of MTC's 2016-2017 season joining the previously announced New York premiere of Vietgone, the new play by Qui Nguyen, directed byMay Adrales; and the world premiere of Sell/Buy/Date, the new play written and performed by Sarah Jones, directed by Carolyn Cantor.

The creative team for Heisenberg includes Mark Wendland (scenic design), Michael Krass(costume design), Donald Holder (lighting design), and David Van Tieghem (sound design).

New and renewing subscribers can still join the 2015-2016 season and include Heisenberg by calling The MTC Clubline at 212-399-3050. Single ticket information along with other listings information for MTC's 2016-2017 season will be announced at a later date.
