"The puppets get so much attention we thought we'd put on a show that puts the puppeteers more in the spotlight", says Musicals Tonight!'s producer Mel Miller, "and shows they can be great musical performers by themselves."
Although casting has not been confirmed for the one-night-only, June 14th performance, fans can expect to hear songs from each performer's repertoire plus selections from the Robert Lopez/Jeff Marx score that normally feature their hand-held partners. More details are expected next week when tickets become available.
This event will be the first for Musicals Tonight! at the 45th Street Theatre, where they will set up shop after this season's final performances at the 14th Street Y.
