BroadwayWorld.com has learned that Kaitlin Hopkins (Bare, Noises Off, Bat Boy) will take over for the departing Emily Skinner in Disney's On The Record. Hopkins is now in rehearsals and will join the company in time for their Philly opening on January 5th and will take part in the cast album recording set for January 10th.
Kaitlin Hopkins received a Drama Desk Nomination for her role as Meredith in Bat Boy The Musical and has also appeared in; John Adams' rock opera I Was Looking at the Ceiling directed by Peter Sellars (Lincoln Center, world tour); Shaw's The Philanderer (South Coast Repertory); Come Back, Little Sheba (the Roundabout); Present Laughter and Blithe Spirit (the Pasadena Playhouse). Films include: How to Kill Your Neighbor's Dog, Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. Recent television appearances: "The Practice," "Providence," "Spin City," "JAG," "The Division," "Star Trek Voyager," "Diagnosis Murder." Numerous radio plays including "The Heidi Chronicles." Disney's ON THE RECORD is directed, choreographed and co-conceived by Tony® Award nominee Robert Longbottom, director/choreographer of Broadway's recent Flower Drum Song revival and Side Show. The music is adapted, supervised and arranged by David Chase, with orchestrations by Danny Troob. The production is designed by Tony® Award nominee Robert Brill (scenery), Tony® Award nominee Gregg Barnes (costumes), Tony® Award winner Natasha Katz (lighting) and ACME Sound Partners (sound design). Chad Beguelin is the scenarist.
