The New York City premiere of Suzanne Bradbeer's Full Bloom, presented by Vital Theatre Company and directed by Linda Ames Key, is currently running through April 2nd. The play began previews on March 11th and opened on March 14th at theMcGinn/Cazale Theatre (2162 Broadway, 4th Floor, at 76th Street).

The show features Jennifer Blood, Jennifer Dorr White, Jason Furlani, William Jackson Harper and Leeanne Hutchison.

"Full Bloom tells the story of Phoebe, a teenaged New Yorker, trying to come to terms with a culture that seems to care more about how a woman looks than about what she thinks or can do. Her father has recently left her mother for a younger woman. Their attractive, thirty-something neighbor is contemplating plastic surgery to better compete for acting jobs, and a young boy, who shares Phoebe's interests, just wants to be her friend. Amidst these mixed messages Phoebe tries to make sense of the not always welcome attention of her blossoming body," according to press notes.

Full Bloom was developed as part of The New Harmony Project Writers Conference and originally produced at Barrington Stage Company in Great Barrington, MA.

Performances continue Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:00 pm, Sundays at 7:00 pm through April 2nd. On Fridays March 24th and 31st, there will be a post-show talk back with Dr. Roni Cohen-Sandler, a specialist in issues of adolescent girls and mother-daughter relationships and the author of the critically acclaimed book Stressed Out Girls: Helping Them Thrive in the Age of Pressure. Tickets are $18.00. Sundays are "Pay What You Will." For reservations, visit theatermania.com or call (212) 352-3101. Visit www.vitaltheatre.org for more information on the company.
