Poly Prep Country Day School just announced, "Show & Tell," a benefit starring Poly parents & Oscar-winners Bobby Lopez & Kristen Anderson-Lopez, songwriters for Disney's hit movie, Frozen, on Sunday, November 9 at 2:00 PM at Brooklyn College's Whitman Theatre.

The benefit's goal is to increase student diversity at Poly Prep, a Nursery-to-12th grade independent school founded in 1854 and fostering mind, body, and character for many of New York City's best and brightest youngsters on two campuses in Brooklyn, New York.

Geared for kids 5 years old and above-and for adults who love musicals-Poly Prep's "Show and Tell" offers a fun- and music-filled hour (starting at 2:00 PM and continuing without intermission) and features the Lopez's behind-the-scenes stories about the making of their smash hit, Disney's Frozen, as they perform songs from the movie along with their special guests: Broadway performer Kerry Butler; her husband and well-known puppeteer Joey Mazzarino; and Mazzarino's "friend," Olaf, the Snowman. Childcare will be available at the theater for families who need it.

Poly Prep's "Show and Tell" is the kickoff event to launch the school's "Campaign for Lower School Diversity," a fundraising initiative to strengthen racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic diversity at Poly's Lower School (Nursery-4th Grade) in Park Slope.

Diversity is a core value of the Poly experience, and this mission-driven effort is crucial in keeping Poly at the forefront of New York independent schools as we provide access to the full promise of the American dream for over 1,000 gifted students, school-wide, each Poly Prep's Board of Trustees, the school's academic leadership, and our parents recognize that a diverse community enriches both the lives of our children and the world into which we send them. We can only fulfill our mission to educate the next diverse generation of leaders and global citizens if we enroll a diverse student body Headmaster David B. Harman commented: "I couldn't be more proud of our school's long-term commitment to diversity and our goal-as part of the school's strategic planning process-to enhance that diversity by focusing on our Lower School. We are deeply grateful to the Lopez's, and to other parent supporters, for launching our diversity campaign with this fun- and music-filled event."
