Sam Jungkurth: Paintings will be on view at Blue Mountain Gallery from September 4 to September 29, 2012. An artist's reception is set for Saturday, Sept. 8, from 3 to 6 p.m.
Sam Jungkurth began his series “Nudes in a Geometric Landscape” in 2008 exploring the dynamic interaction of the human form placed within a geometric design. Color sculpts the geometry into habitable space where human drama comes to life. Line defines form and composition. Sam Jungkurth finds endless possibilities within these aesthetic confines bringing a fresh insight to the human condition.
In his fourth exhibit at Blue Mountain Gallery this prolific artist has produced another impressive body of work continuing his exploration of this intriguing theme. The varied sizes of the paintings invite both intimacy and grandeur. His titles hint at the range of subject matter: Erotica, Sleepwalker, Temple, Earthquake and Flying Free.
Blue Mountain Gallery is located at 530 W. 25th Street in New York City. Located in the heart of the Chelsea Fine Arts District, the gallery is easily accessible from the C and E trains. Simply get off at the 23rd street stop, exit at the 25th street exit, and walk 2 1/2 blocks west towards 11th Ave.
