BroadwayWorld has learned that Blue Man Group, which prides itself on being a creative organization dedicated to creating exciting and innovative work in a wide variety of media, is getting ready to launch a brand new advertising campaign which is sure to set off controversy between the Off-Broadway (and worldwide) phenomenon and Broadway.
Blue Man Group is best known for their wildly popular theatrical shows and concerts which combine music, comedy and multimedia theatrics to produce a totally unique form of entertainment. The blissful party atmosphere created at their live events has become the trademark of a Blue Man Group experience. But for the last couple of years the Producers behind this endeavor have sat back and watched their "Blue" world give way to shows that are all about green and pink. So they're striking back! Not wanting to give too much away on the top-secret campaign, a heated spokesperson under the veil of anonymity told BroadwayWorld, "Look - we've been around for years. The color thing? We owned it starting back in 1991. You never heard about any other color...until Wicked. Wicked stole our color edge by making everything about being green - and pink! Honestly, we never thought the show would last long enough to impact our color thing, then Legally Blonde opened up and the whole pink thing became an issue yet again. And just as we're getting to breathe a small sigh of relief - Shrek opens up making it all about the green. We're done standing idling by - we're making it all about Blue. They don't call Earth the big BLUE planet for nothing!"BroadwayWorld.com wishes its readers a Happy April Fools Day and wishes all the best to shows of all colors.
