Blowout Theatre Presents Jona Tarlin's IN ANTARCTICA WHERE IT IS VERY WARM, Now thru 10/11

Blowout Theatre presents the World Premiere of Jona Tarlin's In Antarctica, Where it is Very Warm, today, September 19th - October 11th at IRT Theater (154 Christopher St. NYC #3B). Kyle Metzger (Artistic Director: The Glass Eye) directs this production. In Antarctica, Where It Is Very Warm takes place in Palmer Station, Antarctica.

Neil's a plumber, but he's never been a plumber in Antarctica before. As Winter arrives and total darkness sets in he starts to learn how lonely it can be on a base with fourteen other people at the bottom of the world. A play about beer, mistakes, and trying to be something other than yourself.

The show features EJ An (The Queen's Company), Lindsey Austen (Partial Comfort, FullStop Collective), Veronique Hurley (The Glass Eye, The Vacant Lot), Christopher Norwood* (The Barrow Group, Theatreworks), and Anthony Perullo (FX's Rescue Me). The creative team includes Set Design by Aaron Ethan Green (Job at The Flea), Lighting Design by Patience Haskell, Costume Design by Julia Kosanovich, and Sound Design by Eli Thacker Taylor (Spoke the Hub Director's Choice Winner). Kristine Schlachter* joins Blowout Theatre as the Production Stage Manager. This is an Equity Approved Showcase. *Denotes member of the Actors' Equity Association.

This fully staged production is years in the making. Blowout first workshopped this piece by Jona Tarlin in May of 2013 and since then, together, we've been developing the piece for IRT this fall. This production will mark the longest run of any production in Blowout's history and also boasts its largest show budget.
