Bloomingdale's has brought it's online denim experience into five of its stores. Their "denim seeker" tool, aimed to help shoppers find the best jean for their body, has gone from the small computer screen to a large 32-inch veritical touch screen in the women's denim department. The pilot program is featured at Bloomingdale's stores in Aventura, Fla.; Century City, Calif.; Short Hills, N.J., and SoHo and White Plains, N.Y.
Some of the features of the "denim seeker" include a glossary of terms, opinions on fits and brands, suggested universal jeans that fit all body types.
To use the "denim seeker" the shopper enters their body type and then is provided with recommendations based on stock. "Following the success of our online denim seeker, we're excited to provide the same product recommendations in store to help our customers find the right denim for their body type," said Anne Bridges, bloomingdales.com senior vice president. "Launching the denim seeker touch screen is part of our ongoing strategy to integrate technology into the stores to improve our customers' shopping experience."
