Billy Porter Plays Final Historic Performance as 'Lola' in KINKY BOOTS Tonight

Billy Porter, who has played over 800 performances in the role of 'Lola' and won both a Tony Award and a Grammy Award for his work in Broadway's KINKY BOOTS, takes the stage in his final historic performance tonight, November 20, 2015.

Emmy Award-winner and Grammy Award nominee Wayne Brady will take over the coveted part at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) tomorrow, November 21, 2015.

Now in its third smash year, Kinky Boots is also currently touring in the country on its First National Tour, and recently opened a production in Toronto in June. The show opened in the West End in September 2015 at London's Adelphi Theatre, and has also announced an Australian production set to open in October 2016.

KINKY BOOTS tells the uplifting and heartwarming tale of Charlie Price, a young man reluctantly taking over his family's struggling business. Charlie meets and finds inspiration in Lola and together, the unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible... and discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world.

The winner of six 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Kinky Boots features a Tony Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by Tony Award- winner Jerry Mitchell. The Grammy Award-winning Original Broadway Cast Recording of Kinky Boots is available on Sony Masterworks Broadway.
