Billy Magnussen Boards HBO's Ensemble Drama THE MONEY; Ray Liotta, Rosemary Harris & More Set for Recurring Roles

The cast of HBO's upcoming ensemble project THE MONEY continues to grow.

According to Deadline, Tony nominee Billy Magnussen has signed on for regular role, while Ray Liotta, Rosemary Harris, and Mamie Gummer are set to recur on the series, written by David Milch and directed by Justin Chadwick.

THE MONEY follows James Castman (Brendan Gleeson), a super-elite mogul and patriarch who uses his power to control his business and his family. Magnussen will play Gleeson's favorite son, "who wields power and influence to expand his media empire and control his clan."

Rosemary Harris will take on the role of "Ellen Knox, the sharp, fearless, and funny mother of James Castman's wife Ruth (Laila Robins)." While Mamie Gummer will play "Tricia Castman, who comes from old New York money and is married to John Castman (Patrick Kennedy), James and Ruth's dutiful son and key lieutenant in Castman's empire." Ray Liotta will is set to portray a rich and "untouchable Wall Street tycoon George Archer."

As previously reported, Nathan Lane has also signed on for the project. He'll play Gordon McCarren, a reporter whose job with the New York Herald is in dire straits unless he finds a juicy story.

Magnussen's theatre credits include: Broadway: The Ritz, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike(LTC), Paper Dolls. Film: Twelve, Happy Tears, Damsels in Distress, 2nd Serve, Surviving Family, The Brass Teapot, The East, The Lost Valentine. Television: "Boardwalk Empire," "Blue Bloods," "Your Pretty Little Face is going to Hell," "In Plain Sight," "Law & Order," "Poopstains," "Law & Order: CI," "The Unusuals," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "CSI," "As the World Turns." Education: University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He is also a member of the rock band "Reserved for Rondee.
