Billy Connolly Live!, featuring the Scottish comedian and actor, will debut at 37 Arts (450 West 37 Street between 9th and 10th Avenues) from May 9th through June 3rd, with an opening night set for May 11th.

"After killing time for 37 years in the rest of the English speaking world, he brings his uncensored, uncut and unpredictable stand-up to New York with Billy Connolly Live!," according to press notes. "Billy is poised to conquer America alone on stage with a microphone, bringing his oxygen-depriving take on all things taboo to 37 Arts." The show will be presented by WestBeth Entertainment.

Connolly may be best known in the U.S. for his starring role in the popular 1980's sitcom "Head of the Class," as well as for co-starring role opposite Dame Judi Dench in Mrs. Brown, and for his part in the hit documentary The Aristocrats. He has also been seen on screen as Uncle Monty in Lemony Snicket's – A Series of Unfortunate Events, in The Last Samurai and in White Oleander. He recently completed roles in two films for release this year: Lord Dargis in Garfield 2, and the title role in Fido, in which he plays a boy's pet zombie. Over the years, many DVDs of his stand-up act have been released, some of which won Gold Discs and went triple platinum. His latest DVD 'Billy Connolly Live in New York' was released in Europe November 2005 and will be available in the US in May on Rykodisc.

The performance schedule is Tues-Sat at 8pm. Tickets are $50 Tues.-Thurs., $55 on Fri. and Sat., $75 for premium seats (limited availability), and $25 for students (limited availability).
