From humble beginnings in the projects of Philadelphia, BILL COSBY began his legendary career as a stand-up comedian, becoming a coast-to-coast sensation and spawning a string of hilarious, best-selling comedy albums, which went on to win five Grammy awards. Then, in 1965, Cosby took on a leading role (as Alexander Scott) in TV's I Spy, making him the first African-American to co-star in a dramatic series and earning him three Emmy awards. He then played such notable characters as Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show, Fat Albert, Elliot Hopper in Ghost Dad, Marko the Magician on The Electric Company and later, the biggest fan of Jell-O pudding pops.
