Parachute
Mixing full-throttle rock with dollops of blue-eyed soul, vintage R&B, and melodic pop radio anthems in the making, Parachute has arrived. The band's wide range of influences is reflected in the songs on the group's debut album, Losing Sleep (2009). Produced by Grammy winner John Shanks, the album crested at No. 1 on the iTunes and Amazon charts, driven by the success of the hit singles "She is Love" and "Under Control."
The Cab got its start while band members Alex DeLeon (vocals) and Cash Cooligan (bass) were still in high school. Panic! At the Disco's Spencer Smith got ahold of the group's demo and was so impressed that he helped the young crew ink a deal with Decaydance/Fueled by Ramen Records, which released The Cab's debut album Whisper War in 2008. Featuring singles "I'll Run," "One of Those Nights," and "Bounce," the disc impressed rockers and pop aficionados alike.

Visual by Walking Dream. Hosted by Rob Rewind / Ages 21+
In 1990, Josh met up with a kindred spirit, fellow Philly jock, King Britt whose interests also include rap and acid jazz. Pooling their interests and blending their differences, the duo waxed E-culture's "Tribal Confusion" for respected New York based indie label, Strictly Rhythm. The record was a surprising commercial success and established both DJs as artists to watch on the global dance music scene.
For an international audience reawakening to the influence of Chicago house during the 1990s, Curtis A. Jones acted as quite a renaissance leader. Besides donning his straightahead house guise Cajmere and a flamboyant, neon-haired acid-house alter-ego named Green Velvet for several of the most memorable underground house tracks of the decade (including “Preacher Man,” “Answering Machine” “Brighter Days” and “Flash”), Jones helmed the two most respected labels in the new school of Chicago house, Cajual and Relief.

Now in their 51st year together, The Zombies are regularly cited as one of the most influential UK pop rock bands of all time. The group first formed in 1961 in St. Albans, and led by Rod Argent on piano and Colin Blunstone on vocals, it scored US hits in the mid- and late '60s with "She's Not There," "Tell Her No," and "Time of the Season." The band's 1968 album Odessey and Oracle is ranked No. 80 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. In a recent Top 100 British Albums chart featured by NME, Odessey and Oracle appeared at No. 32 and was fittingly described as "British psychedelia with a kaleidoscopic vision that rivals even The Beatles."
The Left Banke produced two of the most enduring and bittersweet songs of the 1960s – "Walk Away Renee" and "Pretty Ballerina" – which have been covered by everyone from Rickie Lee Jones to Alice Cooper. However, the group's impact goes far beyond its placement on the Billboard Top 20 charts. The band's pioneering use of classical string arrangements and lush vocal harmonies helped usher in the Baroque Pop movement, soon championed by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Love, and Procol Harum.

You could describe the sound of The Cataracs using the familiar terms: "cutting edge," "universal," or "beyond category." And you wouldn't be lying. But save those clichés for a group who needs them. The Cataracs' music and buzz speaks for itself. This songwriting duo and production team of David Singer-Vine, (aka Campa) and Niles Hollowell-Dhar (aka Cyrano) has developed an electro pop sound that combines the dancefloor sensibilities of electronic music with pop melodies, a risqué edge, and Bay Area swagger. These divergent sounds converge effectively when brought together by The Cataracs' energy, sense of humor, and undeniably entertaining chemistry.
