Logo, a division of Viacom Inc.'s (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B) MTV Networks, today announced the DVD release of The Big Gay Sketch Show: The Complete Unrated Second Season, on April 29, 2008, available on LOGOonline.com and retailers nationwide.
The Big Gay Sketch Show is a traditional half-hour comedy show featuring original characters and satires of popular culture with a unique gay perspective. Popular sketches include spoofs of Paula Deen and Liza Minnelli, and parodies of I Love Lucy and The Facts of Life, told with a queer twist.
All eight episodes of season two feature celebrity guest appearances including stage legends
Elaine Stritch (
Elaine Stritch at Liberty,
30 Rock) and
Christine Ebersole (
Grey Gardens on Broadway,
Cashmere Mafia), as well as comedian
Kate Clinton,
Paul Vogt (
Hairspray on Broadway), Chastity Bono and
Rosie O'Donnell, who also serves as one of the show's executive producers.
The 2-disc DVD features uncensored versions of the original episodes—all language bleeps and sound drops have been removed. The DVD also contains brand new special features including never-before-seen bonus sketches, cast and crew interviews, behind-the-scenes sizzle reels and more.
