Bid 2 Beat AIDS Auction Offers Hundreds of Theatre Collectibles and Events

LIFEbeat will honor World AIDS Day on December 1st with Bid 2 Beat AIDS, a massive eBay auction featuring nearly 1000 rare and autographed items from stars in theatre, music, film and television. Proceeds benefit LIFEbeat, an organization providing HIV/AIDS information to millions of young people annually.

The auction will begins at 3pm EST on December 1st with a special "1 Day Only" auction item: a pair of tickets to the official star-studded New York premiere of the film version of The Producers on December 4th and the party that follows.

For theater fans, the auction will features a Playbill from the opening night of Broadway's Rent signed by the original cast members in addition to numerous items signed by the cast of the film version (including signed menus from "La Vie Boheme" Life Cafe). The producers of Spamalot have donated a limited edition tote bag signed by all the stars of the show. There are tickets to the opening night performance and party for the forthcoming play Dog Sees God featuring stars from "Lost," "The O.C." and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." There are also two Avenue Q "Ultimate Collector" packages featuring rare memorabilia; one is from Broadway and the other is from Las Vegas. Playwright Terrence McNally has donated a wine glass hand-painted for him by Chita Rivera for the opening night of The Visit.

Other shows represented include Wicked, Doubt, Chicago, The Pillowman, Tales of the Allergists Wife, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, Absurd Person Singular, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, A Raisin in the Sun, Hello Dolly, Fool For Love, Angels in America, Naked Boys Singing, Spend Spend Spend and Dance of the Vampires. There are also signed items from theater performers including Patti LuPone, Liza Minnelli, Brooke Shields, Joan Rivers, Diddy, Molly Ringwald, Darlene Love, Britney Spears, Deborah Harry, Dick Cavett, Bea Arthur, John Cameron Mitchell, Parker Posey, James Earl Jones, Harvey Fierstein, Huey Lewis, Rue McLanahan, Billy Crudup and many more.

The auction will also feature hundreds of film, TV and music items and memorabilia.
