Tony Award-winning star Betty Buckley will be seen on an upcoming episode of the popular NBC crime drama "Law and Order: SVU," which airs on Tuesday at 10 PM ET.

Buckley wrote on her official website that the episode is likely to air on January 31st, although that date is not set in stone yet. "I play Rebecca DeMornay's attorney. She was great and it was really fun working with my friend Christopher Meloni again and also the beautiful Mariska Hargitay. The cast and crew on SVU are so terrific."

Buckley has been a top Broadway leading lady for over 3 decades. Gaining prominence as Martha Jefferson in the original production of 1776, she was a replacement Catherine in Pippin before winning the 1983 Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony for her performance as Grizabella in Cats. Other Broadway credits include Song and Dance (replacing Bernadette Peters), The Mystery of Edwin Drood, the ill-fated Carrie, Sunset Boulevard and Triumph of Love. She also performed Sunset Boulevard in London, winning an Olivier for her Norma Desmond; she had previously appeared in the West End production of Promises, Promises. She was featured in William Finn's Elegies: A Song Cycle at Lincoln Center; the performance made it to CD.

Buckley's face is also a familiar one to TV audiences; she starred in "Eight is Enough" in the late 70's, and has also appeared on "Oz" and "Monk."  Her film credits include Carrie, Tender Mercies, Another Woman and Wyatt Earp. As a recording artist, Buckley received a 2001 Grammy nomination for her CD, "Stars and the Moon: Betty Buckley Live at the Donmar Warehouse." Other recordings include "The Doorway" (for Fynsworth Alley), "Heart to Heart," and "Betty Buckley: Live at Carnegie Hall."
