Benefit Concert WE GO HIGH: Singing Out For Reproductive Justice Announced Image

Benefit concert and companion online fundraising drive to raise funds for efforts to fix New York State's cruel and unconstitutional abortion law. On January 22nd at 7pm, We Go High ~ Singing Out for Reproductive Justice featuring some of Broadway's best and brightest voices takes place at The Triad Theatre on W. 72nd St in Manhattan.

In support of grassroots patient advocacy group, RHAvote, this event takes place on the anniversary of landmark Supreme Court reproductive health case, Roe v. Wade, to draw attention to New York State law not meeting the standards set forth in this historic decision. We Go High is an opportunity to show support for patients who have been affected by New York's outdated law and to show solidarity in the fight for reproductive rights nationwide.

"There is obviously so much to worry about and contribute to right now but this is a pressing issue that we know is affecting more women in New York than most people understand. Bottom line, if New York is not providing critical, doctor-recommended healthcare, in state to tax paying citizens, it cannot call itself progressive. Indeed, we have a long way to go on MANY issues," explains event co-producer and Tony nominee, Bobby Steggert.

Admission for We Go High is $50 per person plus a 2 drink minimum. With performances by Alysha Umphress, Tally Sessions, Bobby Steggert, Nikki Renee Daniels, Lauren Molina, Whitney Bashor, Stephanie Umoh, Lindsay Nicole Chambers, Karla Mosley, Emily Walton, Geena Quintos, Jonelle Margallo, Shea Renne, Jacob Hoffman and Emily Walton. The evening is hosted by Catherine Cohen with music direction by Henry Koperski.

"After receiving a heartbreaking prenatal diagnosis incompatible with life, I had to travel from Brooklyn to Colorado to end my pregnancy because I was past the 24 week cut-off. This is blatantly unconstitutional. In New York State, an abortion shouldn't be harder to get than Hamilton tickets!" says RHAvote founder and patient advocate, Erika Christensen.

Tickets are on sale now at www.triadnyc.com.

Seating is limited.

About RHAvote

The RHAvote campaign was founded by patient advocates affected by New York State's unconstitutional abortion law. This initiative is foremost an effort to eradicate all abortion stigma and specifically the stigma associated with abortion care later in pregnancy. Alongside a statewide reproductive health coalition, RHAvote supports the Reproductive Health Act, a bill sitting in limbo in the GOP-controlled state senate that seeks to fix current state law.
