Givenik.com, the revolutionary new way to go to Broadway has initiated a special holiday push to support the efforts of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA); it was announced by Jordan Roth, Vice President, Jujamcyn Theaters.  Effective immediately, theatergoers who purchase tickets on Givenik.com will also be able to donate 5% of that purchase to BC/EFA.

"Givenik.com takes great pride in supporting the many organizations we do, and we are especially hopeful that our service can help our colleagues at Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS during their immediate time of need," said Jordan Roth.

Tom Viola, Executive Director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, added, "We are especially delighted to join Givenik.com as this season has brought special challenges to our fundraising efforts.  We know this unique new way for theatergoers to donate to BC/EFA will greatly benefit both us and them."

At Givenik.com, theatergoers can give and get (thus becoming "giveniks") by getting discounted tickets to dozens of Broadway and Off Broadway shows and simultaneously giving back to charity as 5% of their ticket price goes directly to the not-for-profit organization of their choice.

With Givenik.com, the ticket buyer can save and support and charitable organizations that join Givenik.com can develop a novel, year-round fundraising mechanism.

At present, more than 150 organizations (and counting) have joined Givenik.com, from national groups to local chapters, and from arts organizations to educational institutions.  Among them are Gay Men's Health Crisis, Dress for Success, God's Love We Deliver, Central Park Conservancy, People for the American Way, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Habitat for Humanity, The Dance Theatre of Harlem, local chapters of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, as well as numerous community PTA's, public schools and temples.

Givenik.com, the first Broadway endeavor of its kind, joins the current movement of 'cause marketing' initiatives throughout all industries that foster the cooperative efforts of the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors for mutual benefit.

Theatergoers can become "giveniks" and charitable organizations can join the program at www.givenik.com.
