Bay Street Theatre Presents Economy-Buster Offerings, Including Live Music And Broadcasts

While other institutions are jacking up prices to match the wallets of tourists and visitors alike, Bay Street Theatre is continuing to offer less expensive programming so that all may enjoy some summer fun. The week ahead includes free music and a free Salon Night, as well as a $20 ticket for experiencing a Live Radio Broadcast or a chat with ‘floral designers to the stars.'

On Tuesday, July 21st at 4pm, WLIU Radio Host and personality Bonnie Grice will host a Live radio show as part of the new WLIU broadcasts at Bay Street. This program continues Tuesdays at 4pm with Ann Liguori on July 28th , Connie Conway on August 18 and a special host yet to be determined on August 25th. In addition, Tracie Hotchner will broadcast her popular DOG TALK on Saturday, August 1st at 11am. Tickets are $20 for each broadcast.

On Thursday, July 23rd at 4pm, the popular OUR TOWN series continues with Bridgehampton Florists Michael Grim and Jim Osburn in the hot seats with Murphy Davis interviewing. As floral designers to the stars for over 20 years, and appearing regularly on the Food Network hit series "Barefoot Contessa" with Ina Garten, their customers come from far and wide to seek their expertise. Tickets to OUR TOWN are $20, and the series continues Thursdays at 4pm with Lanford Wilson July 30, April Gornik August 20, Bob Balaban August 27 and Jeffrey Lyons September 3rd.

On Friday, July 24th ,following the performance of DINNER, Bay Street is proud to kick off a brand new Salon Night. Honoring the East End's longstanding love affair with writers, Baystreet Theatre along with ankinrowen productions and HipHamptons.com will present an evening of the spoken word, readings from fresh new voices in the literary and theater world. Guests will enjoy provocative tales from the front line of life, love, and sex. Writers, including Heather Buchanan, Lucy Boyle and award winning playwright Brooke Berman, along with celebrated actors, will share works in progress ranging from racy to hilarious to heartbreaking, and the audience will get a sneak peak at a short story by James Frey adapted for the stage. The evening is free to the public, though reservations are recommended and are being taken at the Bay Street Box Office at 631-725-9500. A cash bar will be available.

On Saturday morning July 25th at 11am, the Family Film Series continues with the ever-popular Horton Hears a Who. Sponsored in part by National Grid, all tickets are $7 and doors open at 10:30 that morning.

On Saturday evening July 25th (again following the two performances of DINNER), Bay Street offers up free live music as MUSIC LIVE! continues with Brazilian Jazz artist Luiz Simas at 9:30pm. On August 1st it's Erin Doherty & Company, August 22 Alfredo Merat, Aug. 29 Charles Notturno, and September 5 Mariann Megna.
