The days of summer are numbered, but the pace is not slowing down at Bay Street! This weekend marks the last chance to see the musical the New York Times calls "A joyous sendup bursting with can-do spirit." Bay Street kicks off the final weekend of DAMES AT SEA with a fabulous Target Two-fers @ Two Special. Come to the box office after 2pm the day of the show to receive 2 tickets for the price of 1 while tickets last. Comedy Club comes to an end with Janeane Garofalo and Al Madrigal gracing the stage on Monday, September 7 at 8pm. Enjoy the Labor Day holiday with a good laugh from the "Truth About Cats and Dogs" and "Reality Bites" actress and the "Gary, Unmarried" comedian. Tickets are $60.
Harborfest Weekend kicks off with a moving tribute for a good cause. Friday, September 11th is a staged reading of "The Guys", a play by Anne Nelson based on one man's experiences surrounding the events of 9/11. Directed by Gerard Priori and starring William J. McKay and Myla Pitt, proceeds will benefit East End Fire Departments. All tickets are $15 and the show starts at 8pm.
On Saturday, September 12th Bay Street presents two free events open to the public. "Postcards from Sag Harbor" will be on display starting at 1pm and at 3pm, it's a viewing of the film "Joyeuse Garde", about John Steinbeck and his home in Sag Harbor. At 8pm, it's time to don those dancing shoes for Local Band Night featuring the reggae sounds of Project Vibe. Tickets are $15 or 2 for $25.
The highlight of the weekend is a One Night Only Special Benefit Performance of "Playing Our Songs". On Sunday, September 13th at 7pm, the award-winning Marvin Hamlisch, Robert Klein and Lucie Arnaz will come together for a special benefit, each performing their unique brand of song and comedy, followed by songs from the Tony-nominated show They're Playing Our Song. Proceeds from the evening will benefit both Bay Street Theatre and Fran Liebergall, part of the original production of They're Playing Our Song who is living with multiple sclerosis. "I always look forward to sharing the stage with Marvin and Robert. There's such a great chemistry there.... But, to be making music together this time, knowing it will also help our great friend, Fran Liebergall, makes it even more special", says Lucie Arnaz.
This evening will no doubt be one to remember. The benefit performance is Sunday, September 13th at 7pm. Regular tickets are $50 and $75. Premium tickets are $150 and include a post-performance reception with the stars. Don't miss this special opportunity!
