Rainy Days & Mondays, a new play by Andrew Barrett, will be presented at DR2 Theatre (103 East 15th Street) as part of the 2006 New York International Fringe Festival from August 17th through August 25th.

The show stars Michael Carbonaro, Jamyl Dobson, Benjamin Gabriel, Rodrigo Lopresti, and Ander Del Rio.  "Amidst the pumped up high of the 1996 circuit party scene, throbbing music, excessive drugs and beautiful boys unite as the play follows an average young gay man as he discovers fabulousness and mortality," as the show is described in press notes.

The lead role of Brian Tipton is played by Michael Carbonaro, who is becoming well known for his starring role in Another Gay Movie, which opened earlier this month in LA and will open on July 28th in New York. Carbonaro also received acclaim for his play Perhaps I've Hatched, which debuted at the 2001 Fringe Festival. "As Brian in Rainy Days, his character's pursuit of revelry and reckless abandon inevitably leads to revelations that challenge his friendships, his self worth, and his belief in love."

States the play's producer, Henry Ravelo, "This is not a typical, salacious gay play with boys running around in their underwear. I took this on because it is a comedic, yet brutally honest look into a world that's never before seen on stage…If you've been at a circuit party- you'll get it. If you haven't been- you'll get it. There's a humanity to the partying that you only understand if you witness it first hand… or through a piece of work such as this."

Show times are as follows: Thursday 8/17 (3pm); Friday 8/18 (10:45pm); Sunday 8/20 (7:30pm); Wednesday 8/23 (10pm); Thursday 8/24 (5:30pm); Friday 8/25 (8pm). All tickets are $15. For tickets visit www.FringeNYC.org or call: (in New York) (212) 279-4488 or (outside New York) 1-888-FringeNYC.
