On Sunday, August 28th catch a buzz at the Bee! Show at Barre presents an amalgam of libation and alphabetic competition: The Los Feliz Village Spelling Bee.
The competition features themed spelling rounds that include topics such as celebrity names, hipster phraseology, alcoholic beverages and naughty words. Featuring fabulous prizes worth tens of dollars from local businesses and artists.
Attendees coming to do more than make a debauched ostentation of themselves on stage will enjoy the musical improv stylings of musical host Gerry Sternbach and the sharp wit of host Mary Holland and the hilarity of guest hosts, 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE ALUM, Deborah S Craig, Barrett Foa, and Todd Buonopane. ITS FREE. NO COVER.
Everyone is encouraged to participate by either competing or expressing opinions as vehemently as possible from the audience. With over 20 challengers, 250 words (probably not found in Merriam-Webster's) and the promise of a cruel and hostile audience, it's the perfect geeky Sunday night out. Spend your Sunday watching red-faced ego-crushery with a drink in hand.
