Barefoot Theatre Company will present its bareNaked Reading Series NYC at the Westbeth Community Room (55 Bethune St.) in New York City January through June 2015.

The monthly schedule of readings kicks off with Adam Szymkowicz's WHERE YOU CAN'T FOLLOW on Tuesday, January 6th. Paul Schnee will direct the reading. The remaining schedule is WETIKO by Greg Paul, directed by Joli Tribuzio on Tuesday, February 3rd; SAFEWORD by Mariah MacCarthy, directed by Jerry Ruiz on Tuesday, March 17th; BULLY by Amina Henry, directed by Shira-Lee Shalit on Tuesday, April 14th; A FULL MOON INSIDE A RED SKY by Mel Nieves,directed by Michael LoPorto, on Tuesday, May 12th; and TOWER 5 by Michael Reyes, directed by Scott Illingworth on Tuesday, June 9th. ?

All readings are at 8:00 pm. Doors open at 7:30pm. Space is limited. Reservations are required. To RSVP, E-mail barefootrsvp@aol.com with the date, play, number of people attending and contact information. There is a $5 suggested donation, which includes refreshments and live music.

Molly Marinik is the Literary Manager and Program Director while ensemble member Jennie West serves as Co-Producer along with Producing Artistic Director Francisco Solorzano.

The bareNaked Reading Series NYC has a companion, the bareNaked LA Reading Series, which will be held at the Art Of Acting Studio in spring 2015 and will celebrate Latino playwrights.

Led by actor Francisco Solorzano, Barefoot Theatre Company is now in its 16th season, developing not only stage, but screen projects as well, via its sister company Barefoot Studio Pictures. The award winning short film, FLOATING SUNFLOWERS, is currently playing the festival circuit and stars ensemble members, Anna Chlumsky (VEEP; MY GIRL; IN THE LOOP) and Lynn Cohen (MUNICH; HUNGER GAMES 2; SEX AND THE CITY). Another short, written and directed by Caitlin FitzGerald (MASTERS OF SEX) is in post-production. Recent collaborations with award-winning writers also include Jose Rivera, Jesse Eisenberg, Kristoffer Diaz, Israel Horovitz, Bernardo Cubria, Hilary Bettis, Mando Alvarado, Ed. Cardona Jr., Mike Reiss, actors Chris Cooper, Ethan Hawke, Bobby Cannavale, Gina Gershon, Richard Kind, Mickey Sumner, Craig 'muMs' Grant, Will Rogers, Caitlin FitzGerald, Alfredo Narciso, Annabella Sciorra, Michael Stuhlbarg to name a few. Over 150 new plays have been developed, workshopped and produced since 1999 with many works appearing across the U.S. as well as: INTAR; Rattlestick Playwrights Theater; The Flea; Cherry Lane Theatre; IRT Theater; Incubator Arts Project; HERE; The Brick; Labyrinth Theater Co., The Actor's Studio, Theatre Row, Gloucester Stage Co., Boston Playwright's Theatre, Art of Acting Studio in LA and many more.
