Banana Republic is heading to the tents of NYFW for the first time. The fall collection for the Gap, Inc. owned brand will mark new creative director, Marissa Webb's, second collection. Webb, formly the head of J.Crew's womenswear, joined Banana Republic and has been an integral part of their revamping. Webb's keen sense of style and bold aesthetic is reaching the Banana Republic customers in a new way.
Banana Republic is not the first major retailer to joing NYFW. J.Crew, Juicy Couture and Athleta have all shown before, making NYFW a perfect platform for a large brand trying to reinvent itself.
I am sure all eyes will be on Webb's second collection for Banana Republic as her first was quielty revealed last summer. At the time Webb said, "It's been exciting for me to work with the fall collection and push the fashion component even further through styling. I'm excited to share what we've been working on and the direction we are headed."
