Ballet Academy East announces the addition of fifteen new full-year tuition scholarships for male students between the ages of 7-18 this fall.
"We are thrilled to announce the addition of these male scholarships, which will give talented male students, who may not otherwise have had the opportunity, the chance to be part of BAE's Pre-Professional Division," said Darla Hoover, Associate Artistic Director of the Pre-Professional Division at BAE. "BAE has achieved consistent success in producing technically strong, expressive dancers with a unique syllabus, an extraordinary faculty, and incredible performance opportunities. BAE continues to offer students the absolute best training in a healthy and nurturing environment, and the creation of this new program allows us to include more male students."
BAE's male alumni include such dancers as Chase Finlay, New York City Ballet, principal dancer; Ariel Rose, Miami City Ballet; Alejandro Andrade, Sarasota Ballet; Ian Bethany, Ballet Austin; Alexander Castillo, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater; Christopher McDaniel, Dance Theatre of Harlem; Devon Carbone, Swedish National Ballet; and Felipe Leon, Diablo Ballet; among others.
Pre-Professional Ballet Division auditions for male and female students ages 7-18 will be held on Wednesday, August 22 and Monday, September 17 at Ballet Academy East, 1651 Third Avenue, 3rd floor, New York, NY 10128, between 92nd and 93rd Streets. Fifteen, Full-Year Tuition Scholarships will be awarded.
