The Ballad of Bonnie & Clyde, a new musical about the bank-robbing folk legends, will play a limited engagement (six performances only) as part of the second annual New York Musical Theatre Festival, with performances beginning on Wednesday, September 14th at The Theatre at St. Clements (423 West 46th Street), and running through Sunday, September 25th.

The show will feature music by two-time Olivier Award nominee Dana P. Rowe (The Witches of Eastwick, The Fix) and book and lyrics by Michael Aman and Oscar E. Moore (Masada). Directed by Michael Bush (director of artistic production at MTC) and choreographed by two-time Tony Award nominee Randy Skinner (42nd Street), The Ballad of Bonnie & Clyde stars country music recording artist Sherrié Austin (Streets of Heaven) as Bonnie and Deven May (Bat Boy) as Clyde, with the remainder of the cast to be announced shortly.

According to production notes, The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde "uses the Nashville sound to recount the story of the infamous outlaw couple. Bonnie breaks Clyde out of prison and together they break the country out of the monotony of the Great Depression by dishing up Country Rock 'n' Roll, Grand Ol' Opry style!" The show will boast sets by Anna Louizos, costumes by Daniel Cole, lighting by Traci Klainer and sound by Mike Farfalla.

Dedicated to discovering new work and new artists, The New York Musical Theatre Festival celebrates the diversity, creativity, and future of musical theatre. NYMF is a flagship program of the National Music Theater Network, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, and is America's largest annual musical theatre event. NYMF is produced in association with Virgin Megastores and proudly supported by amNewYork, Village Voice, WB11, Receptasign, King Displays, Rosco, Scharff Weissberg, TheaterMania.com, BroadwayWorld.com and Manhattan Living.
