Baldwin Wallace University students are aiming to create a scholarship in the name of Kyle Jean-Baptiste, the LES MISERABLES star who died on Friday evening at the too young age of 21. Donations have already started to come in as family, friends, format cast mates, and lucky audience members mourn the loss and also campaign for Broadway to dim its lights.
The GoFundMe page reads:
"On August 29, 2015, we lost one of God's most precious gifts, Kyle Jean-Baptiste. He was taken from us before his time. As we all struggle to get through this tough time, Kyle's classmates (BWMT15) would like to make something good come from this tragedy. We would like to set up a scholarship in Kyle's name at his alma mater, Baldwin Wallace University.
Kyle worked hard every day to attend BW and cherished every moment he spent there. Because of his training at BW, Kyle was able to make his dreams of performing on Broadway a reality. We would like this scholarship to help other kids with big dreams do the same.
We would like to set up a Named Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship has a minimum of 25k and would be given out for years to come.
