On Monday, May 5th, The Actors Fund will host its 2008 Annual Gala which will honor four individuals whose combined careers represent the diversity and range of the entertainment industry: acclaimed actor Alec Baldwin will be receiving the Nedda Harrigan Logan Award; international opera sensation Renée Fleming will be receiving the Lee Strasberg Artistic Achievement Award; and Tony Award-winning Broadway producers and theater owners Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley will be receiving The Actors Fund Medal of Honor.

The Actors Fund Nedda Harrigan Logan Award

The Nedda Harrigan Logan Award is being present to Alec Baldwin in recognition of his extraordinary commitment to all who work in the entertainment community and his ongoing arts advocacy efforts.  Mr. Baldwin is a success across nearly every venue of entertainment – television, film and theatre – as an actor and a producer.  He is currently starring in NBC's Emmy award winning comedy series "30 Rock," for which he received a 2007 Golden Globe, SAG and Television Critics Association awards as Best Actor in a comedy. He is also the author of A Promise To Ourselves: A Journey Through Divorce and Fatherhood to be published this spring.  Mr. Baldwin is an outspoken supporter of various causes related to public policy, including the government's support of the arts.  He serves on the board of directors of the East Hampton Daycare Center, People For American Way and NYU Tisch School of the Arts Dean's Council. He is on the advisory board of the NYU/Brennan Center for Justice and the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund.

Lee Strasberg Artistic Achievement Award

The Lee Strasberg Artistic Achievement Award is presented annually to an outstanding member of the performing arts community.  This year's recipient, Renée Fleming, is among the most widely admired American singers of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. A Grammy-winning recording artist, her voice has been heard in the world's greatest halls including Paris' Opera Bastille, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, La Scala, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera and Carnegie Hall. Early awards included the Metropolitan Opera National Auditions, the Richard Tucker Award, and the George London Prize. She is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Carnegie Hall Corporation and of the Advisory Board of the White Nights Foundation of America.

The Actors Fund Medal of Honor

The Medal of Honor for 2008 will be presented to Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley.  The Medal of Honor is given to individuals and organizations that significantly enrich the entertainment community.  Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley are Tony Award-winning producers and theater owners. Their shows include Legally Blonde, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jay Johnson: The Two and Only, Gypsy, Fiddler on the Roof, The Will Rogers Follies, La Cage Aux Folles, Woman of the Year, Cyrano, The 39 Steps, and Sunday in the Park With George.  Stewart's book, Let's Put On A Show!: Theater Production for Novices, is used by schools and individuals across the country.  They are also executive producers of feature films and PBS television specials.
