On Monday, February 12, at 8:00pm, the New Voices Collective will present four world-premiere song cycles by songwriters Sam Davis, Sean Hartley, Paul Loesel, Steve Marzullo, and Joseph Thalken, performed by a host of Broadway's finest voices.  The concert will be performed in the intimate, 170-seat Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Peter Norton Symphony Space.

Performers include Kate Baldwin (White Christmas, Wonderful Town), Tituss Burgess (Jersey Boys, Good Vibrations), Will Chase (High Fidelity, Lennon, Aida, Rent), Katie Clarke (The Light in the Piazza), Karen Murphy (All Shook Up, 42nd Street, Titanic), Sally Wilfert (Assassins), and Michael Winther (Songs from an Unmade Bed, The Crucible). Also, as part of the New Voices mission, the program will include a work by first-time composer Ben Wexler.

"The songwriters lambast love or honor Eros as they see fit, in a series of four song cycles that chart the many different experiences and expressions of romance. Each composer brings his own influences and background to the project, resulting in a wide range of contrasting styles, all interpreted by some of New York's finest singers and instrumentalists," according to press materials.

The singers will be accompanied by Tom Murray on piano, with Steve Benson on guitar, Ed Matthew on clarinet, and Clay Ruede on cello. The evening will be hosted by Graham Rowat and is directed by Annette Jolles.

Since its inception in January 2003, the New Voices Collective (founded by Joel Fram, Doug Okerson, and Jen Bender) has been dedicated to nurturing young composers in the creation of new works, as well as encouraging established composers to find their "new voice" by experimenting with different musical genres. The New Voices Collective (NVC) provides both young and established composers the opportunity to hear their work performed by well-known classical and Broadway artists.

Tickets, priced at $25 ($18 for Symphony Space members; $20 for Seniors/Students; $15 for children), are available by phone at (212) 864-5400; online at www.symphonyspace.org (just type "new voices" into the search engine); or at the box office. Symphony Space is located at 2537 Broadway at 95th Street.
