Tony Award-winners Lauren Bacall and Blythe Danner will each be presented with Bryn Mawr College's Katharine Hepburn Medal on Saturday, September 9th at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

Cynthia McFadden will host the gala event, which will mark the launch of Bryn Mawr's new Katharine Hepburn Center, named after one of the college's most famous alumna.
The Hepburn Medal is meant to honor "women whose lives, work, and contributions embody the intelligence, drive, and independence of Katharine Hepburn."
Bacall is a screen and theatre legend who won Tony Awards for her performances in the musicals
Applause and
Woman of the Year. She has also appeared on Broadway in W
aiting in the Wings, Cactus Flower, Goodbye, Charlie, and more. An Oscar nominee for her performance in
The Mirror Has Two Faces, her film career has spanned more than 60 years, with appearances in
Dogville, Murder on the Orient Express, How to Marry A Millionaire, Young Man with a Horn, Key Largo, The Big Sleep, To Have and Have Not, and more.
Danner won a Tony Award for her performance in
Butterflies Are Free, and has also been nominated for her work in
Follies, A Streetcar Named Desire and
Betrayal. Other Broadway credits include
The Deep Blue Sea, Blithe Spirit, Twelfth Night and
The Miser. Film credits include
Meet the Fockers and
Meet the Parents, Sylvia, Husbands and Wives, The Prince of Tides, Brighton Beach Memoirs and
1776. She is a an Emmy Award-winner for her work on "Huff," and has also been nominated on five other occasions (including for "Will & Grace" and "Huff" this year).
