The indomitable Baby Jane Dexter brings back her highly acclaimed show "The Real World," for four nights only at the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, as she celebrates the show's live recording release on Quannacut Records. The special encore engagement of "The Real World," with music director Ross Patterson on piano, plays two consecutive Fridays and Saturdays, July 8 & 9 and July 15 & 16, all at 7pm.
Hailed by many critics as her finest show to date, "The Real World" enjoyed a sold-out run in November and December. Recorded live, these shows were called "the real deal" by Frank Scheck in the NY Post.
This is Dexter's sixth CD. The winner several times over of the Triple Crown in cabaret - two Back Stage Bistro Awards; six MAC Awards; 2009 and 2010 Nightlife Awards - Dexter crafted "The Real World" with the Back Stage Bistro Award-winning
Ross Patterson (her longtime arranger and musical director), and the Emmy-winning Elissa Patterson, her consulting director.
