On Sunday, July 20th at 7pm Tony Award Nominee Laura Bell Bundy, Broadway's original Elle Woods, played her final performance in the musical "Legally Blonde". It was a night of emotional farewells and tearful celebration as the Legally Blonde company also said goodbye that evening to two of it's other talented cast members, Andy Karl and Natalie Joy Johnson. BWW TV was there to capture it all!

Laura Bell Bundy received 2007 Tony, Drama Desk and Drama League Award nominations for her work in Legally Blonde. She originated the role of Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray, and performed the leading role of Glinda in Wicked. She first became known to New York City audiences when she made her Off-Broadway debut as Tina Denmark in Ruthless! (Outer Critics and Drama Desk nominations for Outstanding Actress in a Musical).

Legally Blonde THE MUSICAL earned seven 2007 Tony Award nominations, ten 2007 Drama Desk Award Nominations, a 2007 Outer Critics Circle Award and the chorus of the musical was honored by Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) with the first ever ACCA Award.The musical also ranked in the top ten list of the most requested Ticketmaster "Arts & Theatre Events" for 2007.

The show opened on Broadway at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway, between 46th and 47th Streets) on April 29, 2007, preview performances began on April 3, 2007.

At the helm of the creative team of Legally Blonde is Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, in his Broadway directorial debut and also choreographs. Music and lyrics are by both Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and the book is by Heather Hach.
