Two-time Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey took the stage last night in front of a sold out crowd at The Harman Center in Washington D.C. for a benefit supporting his Kevin Spacey Foundation, an organization which enables the creation of new work via grants, designs education opportunities through learning, and offers free university places via scholarships. The event was chaired by business leader/philanthropist Adrienne Arsht, along with honorary co-chairs Congressman Kevin McCarthy (R-CA 23rd District, House Majority Leader) and Steny Hoyer (D-MD 5th District, House Minority Whip).

"Kevin performing with such a wonderful group of musicians and local talent was hugely inspiring to our generous audience who helped us raise substantial funds to support our scholarships, creative learning projects and development of new talent," said Steve Winter, Programme Director of Kevin Spacey Foundation.

Spacey, who currently stars on Netflix House of Cards, entertained the D.C. audience, which included Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden, MSNBC anchors Chris Matthews and Andrea Mitchell, along with business leaders, Congressmen, and fans who were more than happy to support Spacey's cause. Spacey spent the evening backed by a 40-piece orchestra, singing a range of songs, including "Luck Be A Lady" from Guys n Dolls, Billy Joel's "Piano Man", "Lionel Ritchie's "All Night Long," and more! Rounding out the evening of song were stories, impressions, as well as poking some fun at both sides of the aisle. He also brought out a few surprises as well, including actor Jeff Goldblum who joined him a rendition of "Me And My Shadow", and Grammy Winner Patti Austin who performed a solo of "How High Is The Moon". The evening concluded with a post concert celebration at Poste Moderne Brasserie.

Arsht, whose support for the Arts is far reaching, met Spacey earlier in the year when he performed at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts Gala in Miami, and was more than happy to lend her support for this year's benefit.

"It is always wonderful to watch Kevin peform live and tonight was simply magical," said Arsht. "Supporting young and aspiring artists is important to me and to help Kevin Spacey Foundation in these like minded goals is an honor."

In addition to the event Chairs, the evening was also made possible by the support of Vice Chairs Hunter & Kathleen Biden, Lyndon K Boozer AT&T, Jill & Nathan Daschle, Lawrence Duncan III - Lockheed Martin, Melissa Maxfield - Comcast NBCUniversal, Ted Sarandos -Netflix, Charles Segars - Ovation, and Ambassador Sir Peter and Lady Westmacott.
