Everyone knows that Rosie O'Donnell is a huge fan of Broadway, but whoever could have expected that, in addition to the commercials that you've been seeing on the air (and on BroadwayWorld.com), promoting the show, that she would have dipped into two famous and popular characters from Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis' URINETOWN, the hit musical from the 2001-2002 Broadway season.

The spots are hilarious and were done "guerilla-style" to support promotion of O'Donnell's highly anticipated Variety show, scheduled to debut as a Special on Wednesday, November 26 at 8pm on the Peacock Network.

The hope is that if the show is deemed successful, it will go into series rotation sometime in the new year. Here you will see two of the spots, with more to come, with Rosie O'Donnell herself playing Officer Lockstock and the hilarious Jen Cody recreating her role as Little Sally. Even after URINETOWN closed, the two characters became wildly popular thanks to the annual BC/EFA events of the Gypsy of the Year and Easter Bonnet Competitions.

These sketches, with writing contributions from Cody's husband, another popular Broadway actor, Hunter Foster (who also starred in URINETOWN), have kept audiences laughing season after season and O'Donnell obviously thought that it would be fun to use it as setups for commentary on her own upcoming show.

We also heard through the grapevine that, in addition to the standard spots that the network shot, that there was a musical number staged with O'Donnell in a fake, white mink coat, surrounded by some of Broadway's best dancers. We'll get you that spot, too, as soon as it's available for airing, as it has yet to appear.

In the meantime, enjoy all the spots here in one place at BroadwayWorld.com and 'fingers-crossed' for Rosie Live, on November 26th at 8pm.
