Tony Winner Lin-Manuel Miranda will play his final performance as "Usnavi" in his acclaimed Broadway hit, IN THE HEIGHTS on Sunday, February 15th, 2009 at 7pm.
Lin-Manuel's emotional musical fable has touched and inspired a whole new generation of theatre goers, his use of rap beats and rich melodies has given the classic Broadway musical a modern spin as it continues to open the ears and eyes of audiences.
One special young fan became the focus of much interest and celebration a few months back as he made real the hopes of inspiring new artistic forces through the power of drama and song.
Nicholas Dayton's series of YouTube tributes to IN THE HEIGHTS gained the attention of Miranda himself, and in the true spirit of the holidays last year, the cast and crew of the Tony-award winning "In The Heights" made Nicholas' dream come true by inviting him to share the stage with them in an emotional video that quickly became a beacon of sorts that all would be well as the first signs of economic trouble hit the Rialto.
BWW was able to speak to both Lin-Manuel and Nicholas about the adventure of inspiration that they shared with each other, to watch that exclusive BWW TV video, 'When Lin-Manuel Met Nicholas 'IN THE HEIGHTS' click here.
In honor of Lin-Manuel Miranda's final performance today and how much Nicholas has been inspired by Manuel's story Dayton created a "special farewell and thank YouTube to Lin-Manuel Miranda from BroadwayKidd and Shockwave for writing and performing In the Heights, making dreams come true and being a good friend".
Lin-Manuel Miranda commented excitedly that his "head just exploded because of this video", BWW TV STAGE TUBE brings it to you here to enjoy as well!
