The company is led by Tony & Emmy Award Winner John Lithgow ("Dexter", Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Drama Desk Award nominee Margaret Colin ("Gossip Girl," MTC's Defiance) and four time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines (Gypsy, Contact). THE COLUMNIST also features Stephen Kunken (Enron, Frost/Nixon), Grace Gummer ("Smash," Arcadia), and Brian J. Smith (MTC's Come Back, Little Sheba; "Stargate Universe"). Directed by Tony Award Winner Daniel Sullivan (Good People, The Merchant of Venice), the show is written by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright David Auburn(Proof).
Columnists are kings in midcentury America and Joseph Alsop (Tony and Emmy Award winner John Lithgow) wears the crown. Joe is beloved, feared and courted in equal measure by the Washington political world at whose center he sits. But as the '60s dawn and America undergoes dizzying change, the intense political drama Joe is embroiled in becomes deeply personal as well.
Last week, the company met the press and BroadwayWorld was there for the festivities. Check out interviews with the cast and creative team below!
