John Tartaglia's IMAGINOCEAN!, a new family musical set in the depths of the ocean, debuted November 20, 2009 on Royal Caribbean's newest and most revolutionary cruise ship, Oasis of the Seas. Created and written specifically for the new vessel by Tony nominated actor, singer and puppeteer, John Tartaglia, IMAGINOCEAN! follows the adventure of a group of fish friends, who uncover a map which leads them to ultimately uncover the treasure of each other's friendship. John Tartaglia, Philip Katz of Broadway Theatrical and veteran musical theatre performer, Michael Shawn Lewis have teamed up to bring this innovative black light musical production to life on the high seas. What a day on Oasis of the Seas. The first guests boarded today which was so cool! Rhianna performed a concert on the ship before we set sail. Right after her show we did our last preview of IMAGINOCEAN! There were so many people that showed up that we had to add another performance right after. Both shows were fantastic and the cast did a phenomenal job. We are all so proud of them. Tonight we have our official opening night and then I am going to start to blog the final days leading up to the opening of HAIRSPRAY on November 25th....

IMAGINOCEAN! is the latest brain child of John Tartaglia, creator, executive producer and star of "Johnny and the Sprites" (now airing worldwide). Earning a Tony Award nomination for his performance in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Avenue Q, for which he originated the roles of Princeton and Rod, Tartaglia was most recently seen on Broadway appearing as Pinocchio in the smash Broadway hit Shrek The Musical and previouslystarred as Lumiere in Disney's Beauty and the Beast . A 10-year veteran of "Sesame Street," Tartaglia is one of the youngest puppeteers ever to perform on the show, starting at the age of 16.

John Tartaglia's IMAGINOCEAN!, is produced for Royal Caribbean by Broadway Theatrical, a New York based producing and theatrical entertainment consulting company headed by Philip Katz, a Broadway marketing and development executive with over 20 years experience. Some of Katz's recent clients include Shrek The Musical, West Side Story, Legally Blonde and Hairspray. Broadway Theatrical is a full service entertainment consulting firm providing theatrical consultation and support to entertainers and theatrical productions from marketing and sponsorship to licensing and creative development. The producing team is currently finalizing the soon to be announced details of its "on land" debut for a traveling tour in 2010 through a partnership with Theatreworks USA.
