BROADWAY BARES 19: Strip-a-thon 2009: Battle of The Browsers is ready to burn up your hard drive right here on BWW! BROADWAY BARES creator, Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell took a few moments to chat with us here at BroadwayWorld about the history of 'BARES' and to make sure you know how important it is to help the men, women, and children who are struggling with HIV and AIDS.. He also wanted to make sure you join the BWW STRIP-A-THON Team and "CLICK IT!" to support this year's BROADWAY BARES!

Winners of the Grand and First Prize must be 21 to attend Broadway Bares. If the winner is under 21, BC/EFA will provide them with two tickets to the Broadway Show of their choice.

BROADWAY BARES 19.0 "CLICK IT!" is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, executive produced by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Peepshow in Las Vegas), and will be directed by Peter Gregus (Jersey Boys).
The first Broadway Bares in 1992 featured seven dancers stripping on a bar and raised over $8,000. Since then, the 18 previous editions of BROADWAY BARES have collectively raised over $5.5 million to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and grown to a full-fledged production featuring over 200 of Broadway's sexiest dancers.
Jerry Mitchell made his Broadway debut as Director with the hit musical, Legally Blonde, for which he also served as Choreographer, receiving 2007 Drama Desk and Tony Award nominations. Jerry received the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics' Circle Awards for his dazzling choreography created for the 2005 Tony Award-winning Best Revival of La Cage Aux Folles, having also been nominated for the Tony Award in the same category for the current smash hit musical, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Previously, Jerry had received Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Astaire Award nominations for choreographing Broadway's Tony Award-winning Hairspray and Tony, Drama Desk and Astaire Award nominations for choreographing The Full Monty, both shows having been directed by his cherished collaborator, Jack O'Brien. His sexy and dynamic "Peepshow" is currently playing at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas.
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization. By drawing upon the talents, resources and generosity of the American theatre community, BC/EFA raises funds for AIDS-related causes and other critical illnesses across the United States.
