For two weeks only this summer, Tony Award Winning stage and screen star Hugh Jackman will grace the stage of The Princess of Wales Theatre with his spectacular one man show. After a sold-out run in San Francisco, Mirvish Productions is bringing Jackman's show to Toronto from July 5th to 17th. Jackman's show will consist of a personal selection of his favourite musical numbers that reflect on the stage and film star's remarkable career - including selections from "The Boy from Oz" and stories from Hollywood.

When the show played in San Francisco, David Wiegand of the Chronicle wrote "Jackman is a dazzling singer and dancer. It's not that they don't make ‘em like Hugh Jackman anymore - they never did." He will be joined on stage by an 18-piece orchestra for a night that promises to be filled with wonderful music, dance and funny stories.

Jackman made a brief appearance in Toronto on June 9th to speak to the media about his show before heading to New York City to attend The Tony Awards. BWW was on hand to speak with Jackman about his future plans for the show. When asked about rumours that it could be headed for Broadway, he said: "The end goal is not Broadway, but I would love to do it on Broadway. The goal was simply to make something that I could do for thirty to forty years that I love doing. It feels like a massive indulgence."

We are thrilled to bring you this video clip of Hugh Jackman talking in greater detail about why he chose Toronto to present his show, and about what his future plans are. Perhaps New Yorkers will get to see "The Boy from Oz" back on The Great White Way sometime this year after all.  In the meantime, tickets are on sale now for the Toronto engagement, which Jackman promises will be like a "huge party in the city he has such fond memories of."  Don't miss out, they are going fast!
