TV: Frank Wildhorn's TEARS OF HEAVEN in Korea!

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, Junsu, a member of the South Korean pop group, JYJ, has been cast as the lead in the Broadway-bound musical, TEARS OF HEAVEN.

The show is and original story that takes place in Vietnam in 1968 and is a love triangle between a beautiful Vietnamese singer, a Korean private, and an American Colonel set against the backdrop of the days leading up to and during the Tet Offensive. The action follows the characters to Seoul, Korea, and the shores of America in San Francisco's Chinatown.

The musical will open on February 1 in Korea before being taken overseas to Japan and Europe. A performance in the US by 2012 has been pinned as their goal.

Composer Frank Wildhorn (DRACULA and JEKYLL & HYDE ) produces the songs, while Junsu works alongside Broadway star Brad Little.

Music is by Frank Wildhorn, book is by Phoebe Hwang and lyrics are by Robin Lerner.

Gabriel Barre, who has previously worked on Frank's Camille at Goodspeed and his Carmen directs, with musical supervision by Adrian Werum. Set is by David Gallo

The show will premiere on February 1, 2011 at the National Theater in Seoul.
